World book day: The 3rd of March was celebrated as World Book Day. The brainchild of the UK to promote literacy, world book day has spread to over a 100 nations. In the UAE, world book day was celebrated in every School and Bookshop in the country. The year 2016 has been allotted as the year of reading by the government of UAE and hence World Book day was held with much zeal. Bookstores like the Bookworm, in Dubai, will offer a book free of cost to any child who visits the store on the 26th of March. In schools, students also dressed as their character or author and many such games were conducted to instill in students the habit of reading.

Youth Council held its first meeting: The recently established Youth Ministry of the UAE government held its first meeting on the 4th of March. The meeting was presided over by the newly appointed Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Shamma AL Mazrouei. The council discussed the objectives of the Youth council and strategies that could be adopted to find solutions for the issues pertaining to the youth of the nation.

Knight Franks Wealth Report: According to Knight Franks wealth report released on the 2nd of March Dubai ranks 5th in the list of countries with the highest number of Ultra High Net worth Individuals (UHNWI). Dubai has 1500 UHNWI living in and around the city. Dubai has moved up three spots from its 8th position last year, leaving behind the cities of Shanghai, Paris and Miami. Dubai has emerged as a global destination for hospitality, logistics, trade and financial services which have led to the growth of Ultra High Net worth Individuals and is the Central Business District (CBD) of the region.

Dubai Restaurant Week: The First Dubai restaurant week was held between the 29th of February and the 6th of March. The week allowed the people of Dubai to experience world class cuisine at its best. 30 Restaurants participated and served the finest cuisine at unbelievably low prices. Thousands of residents of Dubai feasted on the best foods the restaurants had to offer. Of the 30 restaurants Seven Sands restaurant surfaced as the most popular among the visitors as it served traditional cuisine of the Emirate and with its spectacular location on the Beachside.Lw 2

A Women only Aircraft: LGO international is planning to establish an all women aircraft. Right from the interior design of the aircraft, all components of the aircraft would be built to suit the taste of women. LGO International had begun offering counsel to female clients on how to purchase, manage or lease an aircraft. The Company is set to establish an air base at the Al Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi.
