A valve is an instrument that manages, coordinates or controls the stream of a liquid by opening, shutting, or in part hindering different ways. Valves are in fact fittings, yet are generally examined as a different class. In an open valve, liquid streams in a course from higher weight to lower weight. The word is gotten from the Latin “valva”, the moving part of an entryway, and from “volvere”, to turn, or roll. A valve consists of basic parts: the body, bonnet, trim, actuator, and packing. Functions of valves are stopping and starting the flow, reduce or increase the flow, controlling the direction of flow, regulating the flow and process pressure and relieve a pipe system of a certain pressure.  The different types of valves are open and close valve, butterfly valve, ball valve, check valve, choke valve, solenoid valves and many more. Each type of valve is used for different purposes because oftheir distinct make, but essentially the valve will have the body, bonnet, trim, actuator and a packing. There are several companies manufacturing valves in different sizes andshapes. All the industries use valves because it is an essential component in today’s industry.valve 2
The extremely old valves used levers, handles, knobs to open or close a valve, but with the advancement in the automation industry, everything is automatic. With a press of a button you can open, close or even regulate the flow through the valve. With the introduction of PLCs and SCADA, long lines of codes are written and everything is automated, even timely opening and closing of the valve; one needs to just monitor the entire process.
