Google Pixel XL vs iPhone 7 plus – battle of the specs

For all those android enthusiasts who were not excited about the release of the iPhone 7 and 7 plus, the release of Google’s very own Smartphone should put you on the edge of your seat. Both Apple and Google’s latest flagships are fierce contenders to top the smart phone industry. The iPhone 7 and 7 plus were released in September, and Google’s Pixel XL is expected to be released by the end of this month.

Both the iPhone 7 plus and the Pixel XL have some similarities. They are both equipped with a comfortable 5.5” display, quad core processors, 32 GB storage which is not expandable and the latest firmware out of the box. The iPhone 7 runs on the latest iOS 10, while the Pixel is the first android device equipped with the latest android “Nougat” 7.1 out of the box. Both devices support 3g and 4g/LTE for better connectivity on the go. However, these smartphones are equipped to support only a single nano-sim. They are both equipped with the same sensors too, such as magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and barometer.

iPhone 7 plus specs

The iPhone 7 plus is fitted with a 5.5” with 1080×1902 HD resolution display and runs on the latest iOS 10. Its Apple A10 fusion quad-core processor and 3 GB ram makes the phone super smooth. It has 32  GB internal storage with no external expandable storage facility. The iPhone is equipped with a clean and sharp 12-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 7 megapixel front-facing camera. It also has a long battery life with a 2900 mAh non-removable battery.


Google Pixel XL Specs

Google announced the release of its own Smartphone, built completely by Google. The Pixel XL is fitted with a 5.5” HD display with 1440×2560 screen resolution. It is equipped with a 3450 mAh battery with is capable of lasting 7 hours with 15 minutes of charging. Its 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor along with a 4 GB ram makes the device as smooth as silk. It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage which is not expandable, and it does not support an external SD-card. It is equipped with a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with flash and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera. The phone comes with android “Nougat” 7.1 OS preinstalled, out of the box. The phone also has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack which is useful if you use headphones and an aux cable.


Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 plus have taken the Smartphone market by storm with high sales and pre-ordered bookings for the device. The Google Pixel XL is expected to be released any time after the October 4th event in the UAE. Its expected release date according to most sources is October 20th. Both these devices are loaded with features and specs that Smartphone enthusiasts can go crazy about. The decision about which of these two smart phones, however, is up to you. Hence, the fight between Google and Apple to take over the Smartphone market continues.
